New World Youth Day prayer booklet
With World Youth Day 08 almost upon us, the Catholic Bishops' Conference of England and Wales has released a prayer booklet to help UK pilgrims pray and reflect as they gather in Sydney alongside hundreds of thousands of young people from around the world.
"There will be lots of opportunities to explore and express your faith in community and there will also be the opportunity to create internal space for yourself with prayer, reflection and meditation.
This booklet offers guidance and examples of prayerful resources, gathered from many of the dioceses in England and Wales who are bringing pilgrim groups. It is intended to be used as a companion in the quieter moments of your pilgrimage and an aid to help realise the incredible power of the Holy Spirit at the heart of your experience of World Youth Day."
Bishop Kieran Conry
Bishop responsible for Youth Ministry

“Dear young people: Do not be afraid to Christ! He takes nothing away, and gives you everything”
Benedict XVI , inaugural homily, 24 April 2005
Young people are the Church of today as well as tomorrow. Youth ministry is a priority for the Bishops’ Conference. We do this in two ways: by offering resources, suggestions and guidance to those working for the Church in youth work and by signposting young people (13-18 years old) and young adults (18-35) to resources that aim to enrich and deepen their faith. Explore our section for news of youth retreats, events, Catholics movements and groups for young people and spiritual initiatives taking place locally, nationally and even globally.
