Believing that marriage is the cornerstone of family life, the Committee:
- Develops informed reflection on the issues concerning marriage and the family
- Advises on and responds to issues concerning marriage and family life within the Church, ecumenical, state and inter-faith areas as appropriate
- Fosters and encourages pastoral services for families across the dioceses
